Apr. 18th, 2003 05:34 pmTooooooo busy to write much, and I don't really have a lot of privacy right now, because the kid who's staying with me is always looking over my shoulder and asking questions about what I'm doing and wanting to play games on the computer. She's been playing Hoyle Gravity Tiles, which is a cool game, on my mother's computer Little Boy (the iBook), and has so far kept her hands off of Fat Man, which I am typing on at the moment. But I told her she could play games on here if she wanted to as long as she asks me first, it's OK at the time, and I set up the game for her. (I'm not even sure what to have her play, maybe the puzzle game Sheep - or Myst, or Civ 3, or Sims.) We're leaving soon for dinner at Panera. I'm cooking tacos tomorrow night and lasagne the next, and spaghetti sometime next week, and that is about it for my culinary prowess - maybe my mom can make chicken some night.
The kid is all right; the mom is nice enough, if presumptuous about the limits (or her perceived lack thereof) of her position as a guest. She's pissed me off a few times. The Harry Potter thing is already an issue, and I'm trying to stay out of it.
At some point I have to take my mother's down comforter to the laundromat - dog had an accident last night. I don't really want to do this today, but I can't let it set too long.
Hot hot hot waiter at dinner (Wolfgang Puck's Cafe) last night flirting with me, but I was too [pneumatic robot] chicken to leave my cell number. The pheromones were bouncing around, kids, let me tell you. & I got teased about it. I almost feel like I should call and leave him a message or something. Generally I feel like I'm a sort of elderly teenage girl, but sometimes I feel like an adult, and hot waiters falling all over themselves for me is a good way to bring it out.
