Apr. 3rd, 2003 11:56 pmI spent most of the day in bed today, trying to get over this sinus thing, which didn't really work, but I did have awfully interesting dreams.
Tonight I've gotten back into the layered look (black yoga pants, green cotton sweater, Swell circles tank peeking out from beneath), but I feel more active than I did yesterday, and a thousand times more cheerful and less sickly. Cartoon Network and reruns of Dharma and Greg and Friends have worked their magic, oh yes.
Rather than packing up a set of bookshelves I am going to finish with this project that I promised a certain LJ person I would do. Just worried about the stupid post - do you know that Priority Mail is going ground-only lately? So it takes longer than it used to, I think. BLAH.
I wish I were reading something fabulous, but I'm not. I just got the Gies' Life in a Medieval City - I think I read their book on medieval villages or something like that when I was in about 7th grade. I haven't started this new (to me) book yet. I also have an Oxford University Press book called Medieval Folklore coming in the mail, but it isn't here yet. Lately I read in bed before sleep, and I've been using that time to do logic puzzles instead. My favorite mag is England's Best Logic Puzzles but World-Class Logic Puzzles is OK too - it doesn't really have any super-easy puzzles, though. The English one starts with a few low-stress puzzles before getting into anything difficult.
& we're finished listening to Steve Martin's novel Shopgirl in the car - I recorded it from cds I checked out of the library on my dad's card last summer, but I'd highly recommend it in any format (I read it a few years ago). Steve is a beautifully perceptive writer and he creates a couple of fantastically well-realized characters in this one. If you liked Amélie, you'd probably like it - the protagonist, Mirabelle, is very similar, if not as fanciful.
