OK, here is my contribution to Two Towers opening-day mania, stolen from the onering.net syndication feed... an article (which supposedly has major spoilers) from the L.A. Times with a really good photo of Gollum, the first up to now... you can see his face. eeeee, I'm going in less than 24 hours.
(You know, there was this article by David Brin in Salon yesterday, it's still up, and for its evidence it relies on using certain bits of documents while ignoring any bits of those documents that refute his thesis - and they're there, definitely, because I've read the letters and so on that he references. I almost wrote a letter about it, but then I realized that, well, any corrective letters about it, while potentially correct, will also sound as though they are written by Comic Book Guy from Springfield. Plus, how many hours of my life spent being pedantic? I restrained myself. I have not yet fully embraced my inner dweeb.)
Oh, anyway. Well. The second link. This came from the boingboing.net syndicated feed. which you should be subscribing to! It's an archive of restaurant menus covering the last century or so. Some are online, with scans; others are just listed.
This is a quiz... I can't remember who I got it from... that is a little different from many of the others; it's about The Back Room of the Internet Junk Shop. Sort of surrealist. Here's what I came to, after taking the test.

( more quizzes, for those so inclined... )
I am very tired & want to get in bed with a book and a mug of hot cocoa. I also really really want to tell more people about the terrifying animatronic doll that is currently in my kitchen (um, autumn already knows), but that will have to wait. it all started when Arwen Isobel peed on my mother's bed... *sigh*
