acquisition
Dec. 7th, 2002 12:20 amToday was St Nicholas's Day, but for some reasons my presents from St Nicholas did not find their way into my shoes, despite there being a HUGE RACK OF THEM less than 10 feet away from where said presents landed. Ah, well, I cannot complain. I got hideous xmas socks with bells on (which will annoy the cats no end - always a bonus), a pair of bed buddy warmup socks with little pods that you heat in the microwave and then put in yr socks to keep yr feet warm, a box of Sandman postcards, a Spiderman DVD, and a Snoopy stuffed animal dressed as an elf. Along with a few tiny trinkets.
I decided what I want for Xmas - the "big ticket item" parents are into - I'm going for a DVD-ROM drive so I have a place to watch movies outside of the momster's room and so that I can access DVD-ROM content on DVDs I already own. Bonus is that this will cost probably less than $75 (as opposed to a PS2, which I want but probably won't use as much for quite a while, which would cost $200 plus any accessories and games and stuff). Mom is relieved.
I got up early this morning when the stove was delivered. It's pretty. Food heats up fast in it. It sticks out slightly further than the old stove, so opening the knife/measuring-spoon drawer is kind of touchy. Other than that we love it. I'm going to be doing the appliance epoxy on the hood probably sometime next week.
Anyway, after that I had to nap for a few hours because I hadn't had enough sleep. & I spent much of the rest of the day being crafty and doing housework and puppy-wrangling. Arwen Isobel is becoming much less wild-n-crazy and is able to spend more and more of her time with us, as she gets used to the house and becomes slightly lower-maintenance.
