I did today just what I said I would do - went to Orlando on some errands, took Arwen Isobel in her crate in the back seat because we didn't want to leave her alone that long.

Took the momster forever to get ready, so we didn't get on the road until like 4PM, so I skipped any attempt to hit a knitting shop and just went straight for the places I needed to go.

I tried to get the momster to go into Hot Topic for me, me staying in the car, to exchg the Kermit & Vincent tee (*sniffle* - I need an XL! If you see an XL locally or on ebay, let me know!) She had paid for it and I was just going to get her money back on her credit card. But nooo, she wanted to stay in the car with The Wenzel, and told me to just take a store credit and don't worry about it. Ha! I ended up actually spending money, which I did not want to spend, and said lack-of-willpower is why I didn't want to go in. I already bought the new Utena and FOTR dvds; they're in the mail! Here's what I bought at HT...

*a dress on clearance (liked how this looked when I tried it on over pants and will probably wear it that way. hah! oh, mine is in a black/white/blue plaid, not dotted like the one in the picture. no pocket-flap, either.)
*a funny sticker ("I've gone over to the DORK side!" with a scrawled sketch of someone dressed as a scurrilous Jedi...)
*black and white striped armwarmers, because it's That Time of Year
*a Brian Froud faerie "Boon" t-shirt (um, I was ragging on this line the other day, but in person, I liked it! what can I say? it features a cute little critter that doesn't look like the sickly fairies that have been popping up on every shirt everywhere lately... before this i wanted the shirt that ht has that says "Faeries Suck.")
*a wacky antenna-topper that I might not be able to bring myself to leave outside (it's the Punk Ball, if yr curious)

I also saw this sweater, which I think is really cool, but maybe also trying a little too hard? I don't know. If nothing else it IS filled with piratey goodness! arrrrr!

After that, I sat in the car with The Wenzel while my mother ambled around Wms-Sonoma & Sephora and managed to spend... get this and thank god this was on a card... SIXTY-FOUR DOLLARS ON HOT COCOA MIX. I'm just never going to run out. EVER. If I find any cute boys (maybe named MARK as below - a likely-lookin' target, I mean!) I will have to offer them a chocolate massage. (You know, they DO that at a spa in Hershey, PA. It's a new wave in spa treatments, the chocolate stuff.)

Went to Borders after that, where in the parking lot this woman approached my mother with a sob story about her abusive SO leaving her there with twenty-four cents, etc. The woman is nice, friendly, etc... except guess what? She approached with the same story, down to the amount of change she was left with, sometime last year. Yeehaw! Bullseye. Last year my mother had cash and gave it to her, I'm not sure how much. I told her last year that it sounded like a scam to me, and she defended the woman nonstop all the way home. Now I've nicknamed her Mark. As in, The Mark. As in, a likely-lookin' target.

in Borders. More knit publications. Puppy behavior in transit and before her adoring public. )
