oh, my god! Bri just bought a domain!
the world is coming to an end!
i'll reveal the domain name when he's ready to unveil it.
it will involve a "muckraking ape named Mr. MukMuk."

also, Arwen Isobel was outside for THREE HOURS (with close supervision) and did NOTHING. bets on her having peed in her crate overnight, if not worse. *sigh*
the road to toilet training is rough!
i think it's from her having spent some time in a pet store...
she thinks the confinement area is the place to do her business
and that it will just fall through to a removeable tray under the floor.
poor deluded baby!

also, she and B-cat finally had an altercation for real.
B-cat won. he made her whimper. we weren't too hard on him, but I did remind him that she is just a baby and actually smaller than him and stuff.

woohoo! after FOUR HOURS outside, all accompanied, Arwen finally did her business! yaaaaay!

Brian's rejected domain names:
monkeywithaphd.com
monkeywithwords.com
mrchucklesthemonkey.com

etc. that's a hint about the madness to come.

also, my special edition tori cd actually arrived from amazon today. more yayness! the "charm" that comes inside it isn't a necklace charm, it's like... a totem. mine was a tiny rubber lizard, very cute. and it comes with a ton of other stuff, a photo booklet, a map, a dvd, etc. it has art by this illustrator whose name i can't remember, but i bought postcards he had done that were for a japanese company at AirMarket in NYC. ahhh, Jeffrey Fulvimari. I'm not sure the art is by him, but it's definitely in his style. Also the style of Bourjois cosmetic illustrations.

i keep forgetting that the tori show is in one week and i have to remember to take the nifty bottlecap pin with a picture of Frida to the show so I can give it to [livejournal.com profile] katesterbp, who will be there as well, from a long way away. It's the present I bought her while I was away. I wanted to buy her the big Frida curtain of bamboo beads, but could SO not afford it. so: remember to actually go to the show, and then remember kat's frida pin. should be easy, right? i should put the pin with the tickets! :)

Cat troubles continue unabated. B-cat is pretty miserable with this new puppy situation. If he isn't with his mom (my mom) and sans-chien, he howls at the top of his poor little lungs. we are trying to make sure he has a lot of space and attention.

Arwen Isobel, however, is now managing to do her business outside, so far.

Gotta work on my No today. I haven't written a word yet, due to the fuzzy little distraction.

Drinking spring cherry tea and thinking that much is right with the world, at least my world... so much is wrong elsewhere. and if you're B-cat, especially. (doesn't he know there are little kids starving in Afghanistan? etc...)

If anyone were to go to my Amazon wish list right now, they would find about half a dozen versions of "A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten - it's been on my mind lately. It's ten versions of The Bomb and I wanted to have a copy around for the holidays. but it is hard to find a version where the boys sing on key, sometimes it's better sung by a women's choir. I've spent the day trolling Kazaa for a copy of "Balulalow", my favorite piece ("o my dere hearte, yonge jesu swete, prepare thy creidil in my spreit, and i sall rock thee to my hearte, and nevermair from thee departe... and sing balulalow") - when I was about seventeen I sang the solo part in a christmas concert. I also like "This Little Child", but it's really hard, and our choir could never quite put it together. Though we did often cause our conductor to hurl his baton into the air in mock frustration. I miss singing in a choir.

I also discovered the name of that damn Bach piece I learned like two months before I quit singing. "Quia respexit" from the Magnificat. It's filling in that little hole in my memory... I can now remember how the first line goes.

not religious-xian at all, but i do like older sacred music. loathe the contemporary stuff.

arwen isobel is adapting nicely. we took a nap together earlier and she was nicely calm. i kept her on her 4-foot lead, but she didn't want to stray anyway, she wanted to cuddle. she has a squeaky lamb toy that she really likes, so it was me and her and the lamb.

puppies are exhausting.

in other, better news, i turned the heel on my sock. mostly successfully, except the slipped stitch loops are kind of loose on one side, so the holes are bigger-than-expected. but it went pretty well.
