bleah... i think declaring myself Not Sick After All this morning might have been a mistake. I feel awful. Going to bed now. achy and exhausted in head and body.

Tonight I chatted on the phone with my best friend about the clothes I sent to her spawn (mentioned here earlier this week) and our recent psychological traumas. also, she got a perm yesterday. apparently, they're back. she has very thick hair and it took like 5 hours, much of which was the wrapping and rolling.

peeved that i took the trouble to stay awake for alias and then it was a rerun. took the time to fill in the remainder of the pearls into the grid of the cuff... now I just have to do the really annoying square-stitch end sections so the thing can be closed. this is... it's a net made with tiny glass beads. 3x3 squares, empty centers with bead edging. about 150 squares in this bracelet, i think - around 25 to go around my wrist and 6 going up and down making the width of the bracelet. then you go back and run on the diagonal with each little square - a tiny bead, a pearl, and another tiny bead go into the center of each little square (the pearl is the feature, the tiny beads are filler). you end up with a grid of pearls with a glass bead framework around them.

anyway, if i don't sign off now i'm going to fall out of my chair. keep your fingers crossed for me to feel better tomorrow, instead of increasingly-flustruck. :(

I got a good night's sleep, and then got up today and drank tea and eventually watched The Frighteners - just noticed that Trini Alvarado's character is named Dr. Lynskey, which is a reference to Melanie Lynskey, who was in Heavenly Creatures, the movie Peter Jackson made prior to The Frighteners. And the "Grim Reaper" character in the movie looks like a predecessor to the design for the Nazgul in Fellowship of the Ring - did Jackson make any movies between the two? I don't think he did. I've never seen Dead Alive, so there might be references to that in his other movies that I've just missed.

Still feeling ill, but taking it easy today has helped. I remembered earlier that I always get sick around this time of year. Last year I had a stomach flu, and the year before that was the three-month-long ear infection from hell. I don't feel chronic-fatigue-relapsey or anything right now, JUST tired and achy and a little sore in the ear. So it should be all right, and I'll definitely go to the doctor this week if it gets worse.

The momster is making a lovely huge pot roast for dinner tonight, which has a heavenly scent (well, if you are a meat-eater), but we are having nice spinach/mushroom/garlic miniature pizzas for dinner and not eating the pot roast until tomorrow.
