Also, will do laundry later today - sheets and stuff. Will be time-consuming, but is necessary, as we are entirely free of clean linens in this house.

Treating self to Chicken Scampi, I think. Consolation prize for visit to dreaded laundromat hell.

hoisted by my own petard! or, my own vacuous absentmindedness comes back to bite me squarely in the ass. or something like that. see, i took myself off to the laundromat with several giant loads of linens. Yay! Lookin' mighty clean there, Mr Sheet Set. Took blankets, duvet covers, etc. What was the ONE THING I forgot?

My own damn duvet cover, which I bought a few months ago. Some of you will recall The Saga Of The Grand Patrician Duvet Cover, which is white and cuddly soft, and of which Episode One was A Defective Seam. Episode Two: The Replacement has been sitting on a chair in my kitchen since July. Oopsie. Meant to wash it tonight, and totally forgot it. Meant to wash it the last time I went to the laundromat, and forgot it then as well.

Laundromat was mostly jackass-free. I was only there for about 40 minutes. Read my book, kept my eyes down and my nose clean. Jackass appeared briefly as I was leaving, as a woman walked right out the door in front of me and parked her basket squarely in front of the ramp. Thanks, bitch. I'm pretty sure it was the same woman, actually, who took ALL the baskets in the entire place the last time I was there. Sheesh. Seething waves of hatred, etc.

i think Alias (aka The Show Curiously Lacking A Dramatic Arc, aka My Poor Substitute For Felicity) has a new episode tonight. IS VAUGHAN ALIVE? Time will tell. Oh yes. This, and the Chicken Scampi I ate earlier, are my laundromat consolation prizes.
