Mar. 5th, 2002 12:12 am*it's &*$#@!!ing cold today.
*i woke up sick and spent most of the day in bed, drifting in and out, drinking water and making occasional trips to hug-the-toilet-and-weep (without ever actually throwing anything up)
*got up at 8pm and went out to grab dinner and groceries
*ran into school friend at walmart who said it sounds like i'm coming down with the current bug-going-around (even though I think I am just suffering PMS etc)
*decided to buy orange juice just in case
*dropped off overdue library books at school library
*received cheap cheap cheap lucite labret retainer I ordered - yay!
*now sitting sulkily, achily at home, eating grapes
hope your day was more fun than mine.
so, last night I went to see A Certain Three-Hour Film again, and the momster and I were sitting there watching the other viewers filter in, and as the opening credits were rolling, I leaned over and whispered, "Do you think anyone in this theater is seeing it for the first time?" "Nope," she replied.
The reason why this was funny is that just about everyone in the theater was some kind of massive geek or other. I can smell a roleplayer a mile away (sometimes literally, but more usually it's a facial hair / personal style thing, and very occasionally an issue of overhearing conversation... and come on, given the setting, it's a reasonable assumption). I would have stuck out like a sore thumb if I hadn't been wearing my baby tee featuring a cartoon version of Princess Leia with a "don't fuck with me" facial expression and a blaster in her hand! Instead I just felt like the Queen of the Nerds. (which is not a bad thing.) But we left before the end of the movie, so there was no tribute from my adoring public. ;)
