Why on earth am I still awake?
Oh, yeah, I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] thiefcatcher72 - looking up j-pop fashion sites, gossiping, that kind of thing. fun! :)

earlier tonight i went out to study at B&N and got really irritated by this gaggle of teenage girls who sat at the table next to mine - about eight of them - and started talking and laughing REALLY loudly. dude, it's not Denny's! if you're not reading a book or even looking at books, get your drink and LEAVE... you're driving away actual customers! I pulled all kinds of stunts, like turning my chair towards them and giving them the stinkeye for almost five minutes straight. i almost picked up a copy of The Fabulous Girl's Guide To Decorum and opened it to the section on public spaces etiquette, with the object of either handing it to one of the girls or standing there reading it, but, um, that would have been... rude. ;)

After completing my transformation into a grumpy old man***, I eventually snuck off. you could hear every word of their conversation in detail on the other side of the store! they were taking and making cellphone calls too! (i mean hello, go outside. it's florida, you won't die.) other people around the store were griping about the noise... but not to the right people. i eventually asked my friend who works there to see if she could get them to tone it down a notch, and right after she smilingly told them they were getting noise complaints, they left. i am such a bitch sometimes. but are THEY worried about transferring to a good college in 3 weeks? no. (and yes, yes, i realise it's a bookstore not a library etc. but you can't look at books to buy them with that kind of noise.)

Anyway, I got a book called Through The Glass Window Shines The Sun - this illustrated medieval poetry/prose anthology that I've wanted for years - for $5. Also got the new Juxtapoz. Mom bought me Sloppy Firsts for Valentine's Day. Whee. (the main question of my existence is: WHERE THE HELL AM I GOING TO PUT ALL THESE BOOKS?.) Have been home and chilling out ever since.

***I really did once shake my fist in the air at obnoxious preteen boys riding down my street who were shouting feelthy suggestions at me, and shout back, "shouldn't you kids BE IN SCHOOL????" I am so totally a grumpy old man. Shhh.
