sleeeeeeeepy. it's past my bedtime. I'm on my way there.

yesterday (tuesday) I had a really long day. I didn't sleep well. Then I got up and went to school and went to Orlando afterwards. Just did some shopping with my momster... pumpkin truffles from Godiva and bread mixes from Williams-Sonoma, visiting with Cute Hot Topic Boy, picking up some makeup we each needed, that kind of thing. I fell asleep in the car on the way home.

That theme continued today. N-cat was supposed to go see the holistic vet this morning, but I slept right through his appointment (which was supposed to be at 11AM). Instead, I got up sometime after 1PM, after a full night's sleep, and ran out to get things like candy and citronella candles. I put on my costume and was ready and waiting on the front porch with a huge bowl of candy and hot cider to drink waaaaaay before any trick-or-treaters came.

At first I was afraid they wouldn't show up. A few years back I spent hours making individual treat bags for Halloween, only to have it rained out: we only had like 10 kids come by the whole night. We haven't really bothered since then, but I really wanted to this year. We ended up having a decent turn-out. I saw a lot of Wizard of Oz costumes (3 Dorothys, a Glinda, a Cowardly Lion, etc), a couple of Disney Princesses, a lot of skull-faced ghouls (including the ones with that two-layer mask that drips blood between the layers, with the top layer being clear). The best costume I saw all night was a boy probably around 12 who was done up as a Blue Man (from Blue Man Group). Second place goes to a boy who was a "hunchback" - wearing an old snowsuit with the collar pulled up over his head, and affecting a walk and a grimace - he actually swung his arms and made faces at me while I was giving him candy. Very simple costume pulled off with pure acting skill!

I went inside to pee around 8PM, and when I came back outside, it was pouring rain. So I cleared everything up and went out to dinner in my costume and makeup. Came home, washed up (which took FOREVER) and dyed my hair, then sat down to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Now this was a good Halloween.
crazy mom alert. no sleep. boring classes where we did nothing. dvd i ordered out of stock indefinitely (i cancelled it and ordered the nonlimited edition, since i don't really care about the director's commentary that much). tired tired tired. may have accidentally insulted friend's younger sister. must watch mouth like it's going out of style. meandered around like a zombie. got back bad pictures.

not a good fucking day.
