Sep. 30th, 2001 03:06 amHome from N's house, finally... a good time was had by all. Nobody else even got there until like 8PM, so for a long time it was N, her friend C (who I ended up knowing from Girl Scouts in 1987 when her mom was one of my troop's leaders!), and me. The mehndi did not go so well, and was abandoned due to equipment failure. I ate a lot of the snacks... pomegranate seeds served on starfruit slices, mini-pizzas made with cherry tomato slices and cheese on melba toast, chips and dip, pita and hummus, etc. Girl Talk was talked. Clothing was lent. It was that sort of party.
We went out for about two hours in the evening, after K got there, because she had promised to go see a friend's band. Then we came back and watched a lot of old SNL stuff featuring Adam Sandler. C and I traded a lot of stories because we have known a lot of the same people over the years, had the same teachers, and so on. I remember her as a sulky little girl (when she was in 2nd or 3rd grade), but she's cool now. :)
I am tired and my throat hurts. But I did have a good time. Even met two nice doggies, Lola (a yorkie) and Benjie (a poodle-spaniel mix) - I miss having a dog, and Lola is cat-size. The drive home was difficult, because the weather has gone nasty, and it's now very windy. All the potted plants in my front yard have been knocked over by the wind. Now that I am home, N-cat and B-cat are sniffing me to oblivion, wondering where I've been and how I managed to pick up such interesting smells.
