Aug. 29th, 2001 05:20 pmlong past few days...
I ended up getting almost no sleep the night before last... well, like 1.5 hours or so. & like a good girl, I got up and went to school & actually even managed to stay up all evening. Went to bed at 11PM and got lots and lots of lovely sleep.
Classes were OK... we had a few pieces to critique in writing and the poor fellow who was the victim accepted the criticisms very well. & then design was basically just long and boring, showing off collages and working a little on our group projects. Everyone liked my Eye Farm (which was a collage wherein I covered an entire surface in slightly-variant googly eyes from the craft store). I wasn't really happy with it... it looks messy 'cos i had to basically stick the eyes into a sea of glue gel to keep them from falling off the paper... but it's fun nonetheless.
After school I sat in the car with the a/c on and my bare feet up on the dashboad while I read Use Me and waited for The Momster to get her prescriptions. It was fabulous... warm sun on my feet, cool air all around. Then I did a bit of shopping, and picked up the new issue of zine guide and a used Sarah Cracknell cd and a pair of cute metal barettes with big-eyed Keane-style puppies on them. (avoided the matching kitten barettes 'cause 1 - i don't want to be called "the cat lady" and 2 - the kitten was pretty much the same colour as my hair.)
I saw a show on the WB (*innocent look*) last night called Dead Last, about an indie band that has some "calling" where they have to help ghosts resolve the issues of their lives. Sort of like Scooby-Doo, only without a dog, and with real ghosts who the heroes have to work with, instead of against. It probably won't last, but if you liked Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity you might consider checking it out: it's produced by John Cusack's production partners, D.V. DeVincentis and Steve Pink. Some of the acting is terrible, though...
Today I don't have any classes, so I got up at a decent time and have been hanging out all day, working on notes for a test and getting the house ready for the delivery of the infamous sofas this week. I feel kind of zoned and achy. I'm talking with Banshee and Ragdoll on AIM, a couple of Excellent Birds.
All in all, despite the sleep deprivation, it hasn't been a bad couple of days.
