Jul. 31st, 2001 08:47 amyes, I just woke up. i didn't write in here yesterday because i was too tired... i didn't sleep a lot the night before last. I figured the only way to stay awake was to get out of the house, so that's what I did, after watching a Japanese action-ish caper flick called Adrenaline Drive. It wasn't bad, but somewhat predictable... I wonder what I would have thought of it if it had been in English?
After that I went out to dinner (which I ended up mostly taking home) and spent a few hours being a bookstore troll. Came home with the new issue of Vogue Knitting, which has a few nice sweaters I'd like to make, as well as a new calendar for school and the Bhagavad-Gita (a cheap copy). The Momster got this interesting book that helps you figure out what styles will look good on you. & when I got home, around 11PM, I went to sleep pretty much immediately.
The Momster is off at an appointment to try to get the VA benefits she's supposed to be getting as my stepfather's widow. It appears that he may have been discharged from the military incorrectly all those years ago... he was in the Coast Guard and got in a car accident in the late 70s and was paralyzed from the armpits down (though his arms mostly worked). If he was given a medical retirement discharge everything is fine, but if he was given a straight honorable discharge there are problems. It's a little too complicated for me to go into here. But anyway, she got up at 7AM (via my alarm clock) to go to an appointment to see what's up with all of this. & I couldn't sleep through it, so now I'm up too. Can't hurt, I suppose. *yawn*
