Mar. 16th, 2001 01:18 amEnded up throwing on some pants (I was wearing overalls and certainly not about to leave the house in them, not even to go to the grocery store, not even to walk down to the mailbox at the end of the driveway), and going out for dinner. Plan A? struck out! packed parking lot, waiting list spilling outisde. Plan B? TWO tour buses arrived just before we did; 45-minute wait.
We settled for Applebee's and waited about five minutes or so. I drank a chocolate martini in three sips, the last being the longest. Must remind myself that the next time I want a chocolatey drink I should go for a mudslide, as chocolate and martini are sort of mutually incompatible. (well, it wasn't bad, it was just... very... vodkan.)
Hit the bookstore afterwards, where I picked up the new book for the Reading Room community, Mann's Magic Mountain, and this week's New Yorker, which has a new Haruki Murakami story therein (or at least new to me; I have his collected short stories already, so it must be something at least relatively obscure).
Here I am. I'm going to run off and read myself to sleep. Thanks for the responses to the last post - keep 'em coming if you have any ideas.
