We watched Bring It On (which is funny as hell, if shallow in a pleasant teen-comedy way). I don't care for Eliza Dushku (never did, even pre-Buffy) but she was only a minor irritant in this particular role. I'd recommend it to people who can keep in mind that it is what it is and not expect a great deal of depth, drama, or insight. It's about cheerleading, people.

Other than that... my head hurts and I'm hungry and I don't have a lot to say. I did make a friends-only entry earlier which might be of more interest, so people should log in and read it or somethin'.
I have a terrifically bad headache. I am probably going to need to go to the chiropractor this week. I can't get comfortable at all.

Watched The Mummy earlier... the one from about two years ago. I hadn't wanted to see it in the theater, but I watched it tonight because the ads for the sequel are amusing: "The greatest evil the world has ever known is about to be unleashed... by the two people who should know better. Unfortunately I didn't think the title character was all that... evil. Certainly not good, but there's no case for him over, say, Hitler or someone like that.

Also noticed that the movie never ever gets mentioned in condemnations of film violence (of the kind that have been so popular in the past two years), but it is. Very violent, and cartoon violence at that, where there isn't much visual consequence to someone getting shot or sliced-open or set on fire. Not a lot of blood or anything. This didn't bother me... I thought it was entertaining and silly and fun... but it made me think about how skewed American values really are.

I 'specially liked the line about being proud to be a... a... a... librarian! and I liked the undead soldiers that scuttled across and down the walls of the staircase near the end. I like it when people scuttle across walls and ceilings in movies, though I expect I'd find it quite alarming if I ever actually saw it done in daily life. (gravity boots?)

Some weird anonymous person abused me on AIM earlier. It was almost entertaining, but fell slightly short. I suppose I ought to have been insulted (and might have been if it had been more intimate and less random), but I couldn't really summon the energy, so I settled for bemusement.

Now I think I am going to take my headache to bed with a hot mug of tea (and a whole lot of pills), and push D-cat gently to the side, as he is lying in my spot like a great white powder puff, stomach up and paws curled over his eyes. Awwww.
(You know, when there was a cat like him on The Powerpuff Girls, it was a villain. He probably is trying to hypnotize me in my sleep.)
Since I had a near-total case of insomnia last night, I ended up sitting around with Autumn (who had just woken up) looking up websites with which to diagnose ourselves with serious personality disorders. You know how all beginning psych students do that... as they read about various disorders they start to compare their own personalities with what they're reading. We both do it for fun.

I think I finally got to sleep a little before noon and I haven't been up for long. Headache seems to have faded a bit. L. called and we have tentative plans to see Monkeybone tomorrow evening. I'm going to watch Sunday Night Television (god help me) and probably putter around a bit. Mum went to the grocery store without me; I hope she picks up good foody things.
