I have spent the afternoon reading and eating triangle-cut grilled (soy)cheese (spelt-bread)sandwiches my mommy made for me - clearly a regression. The same things I liked to do on Saturday afternoons in 1986. Never mind that it is Wednesday. I have read within ten pages of the end of this week's portion of TMM.
I have also looked at all the work-at-home sites that andrea so graciously provided, though not in much depth. Funny, I have a reputation as work-avoidant among friends, but I think that's because I occasionally talk about getting a job and can't find one or end up not being well enough. I spend a great deal of time wishing I could work and wanting to work (why? because I have no damn money of my own, and I get bored easily.) But not finding anything that suits my particular talents and limitations.
I have things to say about Africa, but they will have to wait for another entry. Simplistic things, but well-meant. Africa is a broken heart.

I got this from the delightful miss Soma!
1. How old were you when you started wearing make-up?: probably around 10, in a clandestine "ruby lipstick worn at Project Excel on Fridays" way; 12 or so for sanctioned makeup... whenever I started 7th grade. I had one lipstick in 6th grade but was only occasionally allowed to wear it.
2. Describe your most embarrassing make-up phase. Be honest.: I've had a few. Possibly the Blooming Colors mascara phase, where I had turquoise and mustard-yellow and purple and maybe pale pink? and I had a 24-color eyeshadow palette and coordinated my shadow and mascara in interesting combinations, like gold-flecked green shadow on the lids and gold on the browbone and yellow mascara. Other than that the makeup was pretty subtle... I've never been a blush-abuser. The early goth phases were pretty bad too, with the masses of eyeliner not applied as well as I'd have liked. I always looked good in heavy liner and shadow once I got the knack of applying it correctly, though I now think a lot of makeup just makes me look old.
3. How long do you take to get ready? Well, I have short messy hair, and in order to make it look nice, I have to shower and completely style it. So an hour or so. Makeup takes five minutes or so of that. Shave some minutes off if I've already decided what to wear. Sometimes I just dunk my hair under the sink, which helps cut time but doesn't look as nice.
4. What was your first perfume?: This stuff that came in a tube with a dabber, made by Village Bath (who made the lip balm tins, remember them?)... I don't remember the name of it, tho I have the bottle in the other room. Something with "Buttercup" in it.
5. Which ones do you wear now?: YSL Baby Doll, Angel Innocent, Romance, Skin Musk, a few others.
6. Who's the best-smelling person you've ever met? What did she/he smell like? Melodie. She smelled like Melodie. (my mom's best friend when I was about 7-11.)
7. If you could invent your ideal beauty product, what would it be?: Something that clears up and shrinks the pores in and around my nose, and keeps the area from being oily. Nothing currently out there helps. Aside from that, a concealer that works without getting into fine lines, etc.
8. If you were disgustingly rich, what would be your beauty indulgence? A gigantic bathtub, frequent mani-and-pedicures, laser hair removal...
9. What's the most you've ever spent on a product? A beauty product? I have no idea.
10. What's your favorite cheapie find? I don't think I have one, if we're talking makeup and so on. I like my flat eyeliner brush with the bristles cut at an angle, from Sephora; it makes it very easy to use my eyeshadow as liner.
