I have a request - I need some help. Those of you who live in NYC (or even Boston or Philly or something similarly close)... I need to decide what to take with me when I go up there in a week. I've already talked to Ragdoll and Autumn but I need more opinions.
What is the weather like in late March and early April? Autumn says I should bring a winter coat and a spring coat... should I bring a HEAVY winter coat (IE wool) or just plan to get by with long sleeves and sweaters under a leather carcoat?
I want to bring stuff so that I can walk around Manhattan without looking like an idiot. Most of what I wear is t-shirts of the variety you can find at Cosmic Girls and Hot Topic and even sometimes places like Pacific Sunwear. I wear pants a lot, usually somewhat dressy (black stretch microfiber or charcoal chinos, sometimes regular chinos) or just jeans (dark blue). I wear skirts occasionally - either black broomstick skirts with my black babytees, or more recently denim skirts and/or pleated schoolgirl skirts in black or red/black/white plaid. I also have longsleeve boring tees, and sweaters from places like Express, Jcrew, etc - pretty generic.
Any ideas? I don't want to be sneered-at if I go into Trash & Vaudeville or Pat Fields but I also don't want to look like a teen subculture victim.
Today has not been the most interesting or productive day. I woke up late, around 1PM, after a lot of very weird and uncomfortable dreams that I don't even want to write about. I don't even have much memory of what I've been doing since I woke up, except that I took a shower, put on clothes, drank tea, and read my friends' entries from the last few days (150 entries - gah). Now it's time to Make A Plan for the evening.
