it's ragdoll's world, i just live in it.

If you were [livejournal.com profile] ragdoll, today would be your birthday, and you'd be 29 again! :D Happy birthday, sweetie! (I am a slug who has not yet mailed your present because I bought it a week ago but the day just crept up!)

In my last post I said I was going to go check on Sick T. Well, as it turns out... I didn't. First of all, Sick T. went to the doc's today, was diagnosed with some sinus ailment, and was put on a course of antibiotics. Meanwhile, I hurt my back twice in the same way on Thursday, doing dumb things that don't bear description, and I have a killer headache and have been feeling generally under the weather all day. End result is that the momster invited T. to come and sleep on the sofa so that we could hang out together in greater comfort and so that I could stay home and rest. So he's asleep downstairs and I'm in my room. We just watched TV and a movie (Pirates of the Caribbean) and I worked on knitting a sock heel. We have an idea for some interesting "hipster knitting" merchandise, but we'll tell you more when we're ready to unveil it.

Mom says he's welcome to sleep on the sofa for the whole weekend if he wants. & she's going to make us a big breakfast tomorrow! Yay mom.

I have had a really good idea for a zine essay lately, and I want to work on it, but I haven't felt up to it.

OK, OK, I realize I haven't made an entry in a week that didn't mention my boyfriend. But we're really happy and stuff! We're always doing things or making plans to do things. Nonetheless, I will aim for at least a couple of non-cloying relationship-neutral entries each week.

Thank you, dear heart! Don't worry about the delay -- unlike last year (when I turned that hideous number...28!!!), I'm not angsty about stuff so whenever it gets here is groovy. It's the thought that counts!

Btw, I think it's amazingly good that your mom has let T. sleep on your couch etc. I can't imagine my mom EVER doing that with any of my past boyfriends. She's never liked any of them enough. (And better cloying relationship entries than cloying I Love My Daughter and Her Wacky School, SQUEE! posts all week...*ahem*).

you didn't turn 28 - you turned 29 for the umpteenth time! the horror! (now you're past "umpteen" and doing foin.)

i worry that you may already have yr birthday present.

what extremely expensive thingie did PAF get you?
i honestly think she's not... totally pissed at you, but probably doesn't know what to say exactly.

Yes, that sound about right. I'm "Umpteen plus".

Don't worry about whether I have it or not. Just send it, woman. :)

She got me an expensive book and a medium priced DVD. So between both of those and the 2nd day air, she spent about $80 or so. I got ambivelant e-cards tonight. I don't know what to think anymore.

oh hell! when was the last time i made an LJ post that didn't mention the mysterious bookboy? and we're not even in technically in a relationship!!!!

your posts are happy & make me happy. at last, someone i know is not utterly miserable! i am happy for you!

[identity profile] verbminx.livejournal.com 2004-02-28 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
thank you. :)

we kind of enjoy the fact that we're a sickeningly cute and PDA-prone couple, though. ;)

enjoy it! you have every right. you deserve it. :)

There are, actually, hipster needlepoint sets that let you do needlepoint of album covers like 69 Love Songs and Tigermilk. No joke.

[identity profile] verbminx.livejournal.com 2004-02-28 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
hahaha! if only i liked needlepoint.

no, our stuff that we're plotting is... not craft merchandise for hipsters, but merchandise for crafty hipsters. we're trying to decide whether or not to go CafePress... the variety of stuff they offer is good, but otherwise I'm not impressed with them. There are a couple of other places but I think they only do tshirts. We'll seeeeee...

Merchendise for crafty hipsters, eh?

Does bootlegging oatmeal count as a carft?

[identity profile] verbminx.livejournal.com 2004-02-28 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
only if you have a blog about it. ;)

[identity profile] bioproject.livejournal.com 2004-02-28 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"today I thought, what about raisins and brown sugar in my oatmeal...I tried it and it worked...BY JOVE IT WORKED"

and I make it into a community, and we could share recepies, and we could talk about the origional vs. instant oatmeal debate...

and...and...and...

well, needless to say, I think a curtain has been lifted somewhere

I'm totally psyched for you and T. ... I'm glad to hear you're having fun, and it's cool your mom has invited him over like that! :)
