(no subject)

blah...

I woke up at 7somethingAM and, after lying there for a while thinking about how I didn't want to get up, I got up. Put a sign on the door for the FedEx people (who were supposed to be here hours ago and still aren't, yet) and did Useful Things like making myself breakfast (some cut fruit and melon, an everything bagel with creamcheese, a cup of Lady Grey tea) and doing dishes in a mad misguided attempt to clean my kitchen up a bit.

Then I started watching TV and reading, and fell back asleep around 1130AM, with my mother's cat lying beside me alternately attempting to gaze soulfully into my eyes and fake sleeping. When I woke up around 2 or so, he was still there.

Since then, I've been puttering, talking to V, and wondering where the hell FedEx is.

I do have one, and she looks just like the one in the pic! (which is from the Gina Garan book of course.) Teen Skipper clothes, the Fashion Avenue ones, mostly fit her. I love my Blythe so much... and I really want to get her a brunette sister! :)

i read an article about blythe (and the book) in a mag here a while ago, and it made it sound like blythes are hard to come by/expensive, and a quick check of ebay confirmed that. how'd you score yours, if not on ebay? i highly doubt i'd stumble across any here (sydney), but one day i'll bite the bullet and bid for one, i spose. :)

I got her from a "private collector" who has a webpage where she sells them. I paid around $45 for mine; one of her legs doesn't bend properly (which I don't care about) and her hair is a little tangly (which is fixable). It took FOREVER for the woman to send the doll after I paid for it, and she only did so after I politely threatened her with reporting her to her state's attorney general, etc. They really are way too expensive on Ebay. I saw a brunette Blythe in her original box up for sale there a while ago and I shudder to think what she ended up going for. Even dolls with the legs broken off seem to go for as much as I paid for my nice one.
