this is funny:

JarJar's Walking Papers: or, George Lucas Strikes Back

(now I'm going to watch Darth Vader's Psychic Hotline...)

but the funniest of them was the Star Wars Gangsta Rap...

(you haven't lived until you've heard someone rhyme "player hater" with "Lord Vader". really.)

Did you know that STAR WARS is being projected digitally in only 19 theaters across the country, and one of them is in Melbourne, Florida? Aren't you up near there somewhere? I can't muster much excitement about seeing this particular movie, but I'm wildly anxious to check out digital projection. From Stuart, going up 95, I'm thinking it's like an hour? Is it worth it?

It's not an hour! It really isn't! I'd say more like 1:45-2 hrs.

Did they say which theater? I'm guessing it was the new Cinema World, where I saw it. I'm not sure if we were in the "digital" auditorium or not, since they have four screens running it. But the theater literally just opened like two weeks ago, and their seating is comfortable and their prices competitive. Whichever theater we were in, the sound was FANTASTIC... when things passed or exploded on the lower half of the screen, we felt them rumble under the seats, sometimes in anticipation of the object actually coming onscreen.

I heard that Downtown Disney had the only theater in Florida showing it digitally. Guess they were wrong.

According to the SW website, the digital theaters in Florida are the AMC Pleasure Island 24 in Lake Buena Vista, CinemaWorld 16 in Melbourne, and the R/C Parkside 16 in Pinellas Park.

2 hours are a lot different than 1, though...

I saw the Vader's psychic hotline thingee on SciFi the other night when they were doing the SW Fan Film awards. I also saw a really funny one for a Storm Trooper recruitment ad which was a great rip on the U.S. military ones. ;)

yeah, the Empire of One short is on the atomfilms site too... I just didn't think it was as funny as those three. Another I saw was "Silent But Deadly", wherein Storm Troopers kidnap maintainers of internet fan sites who leak Lucas' secrets, and tie them up and make them watch Howard the Duck.

I think the Gangsta Rap is my favorite of all of them... it's really really really fucking funny.

I haven't seen the Gangsta Rap one. I shall go there post haste and check it out. I thought the Vader's Psychic Hotline was the funnier of the two I saw but obviously I haven't seen the other good ones. ;)
