D-cat is dying.
He's in kidney failure. He's not in pain, but he feels "sick". He's lost about 1/3 of his body weight in the last few weeks. He's going to stay in the hospital for a week and be given fluids and so on. But the strong likelihood is that we will have to have him put down next weekend. He's 11 years old and very sweet.
Here is a picture of D-cat. Please pray or keep your fingers crossed or chant sutras or whatever for him, that he perks up a little bit and gets at least a few more months of happy kitty life:

Poor kitty. Such a sad, sweet face.
If it's any consolation, my parents' Golden Retriever was given a few days to live...several years ago. His health waxed and waned, and he finally passed on just a few weeks ago, but - he did have another chance. Several, actually.
Fingers are crossed.
