Worried about Banshee. Poor Banshee. Aquagirl, have you talked to her? is she going to be OK?
Happy about the Democrat thing, but if a Dem defects in the near future, it could be an interesting game of ping-pong, couldn't it?
My headache was really vile today and I went to the chiropractor and met the new massage therapist. All went well. Afterwards, we went to Jo-Ann Fabric, where the huge pattern sale they have every so often was going on, so I found a ton of patterns I liked. I mean, between my mom and me, we got at least 10 patterns. I got a lot of historical patterns, plus a robe pattern, an evening kimono overjacket pattern, and a lovely winter-coat pattern. We also got patterns for pet beds, patterns for kitchen appliance covers, blah blah blah. It's pattern city here. I got a nice soft cotton/poly blend tropical floral print in blue and white to make the robe out of. It'll be my first project, after I finish my current knitting project.
I also saw an old friend of mine, aka The Cockroach Princess, at the store. I didn't talk to her; I will probably give her parents' house a call sometime in the next few days. We have had a really unhealthy relationship. She can bring out the worst in me. But we have also had a lot of fun together, in the past.
After that, my mom decided she wanted steak, so we went up to Outback Steakhouse for dinner, and I had chicken and the cheesey onion soup. Whee. Now I'm sitting around the house doing not much... laundry, puttering, etc. Trying to figure out what to do with all these patterns!

They are hard 2 let go of- but in my X-perience have found they are better off when you step on their heads with a large boot and dump them in the toilet.

she has a tendency to be either really poseurish or really irritating & i end up becoming condescending. but she has her good sides too. she's really supportive and stuff.

Thank you. :)
I'm so envious that you can sew. It's such magic, making clothes...

i don't know how to sew, per se... my mom kinda knows, but hates it, and i've had a machine for YEARS and done nothing with it because I don't know how to use it. i've done a lot of handsewing of small things, small mending and alterations too, but not actual garment-making. i'm excited! i have so many supercool patterns... :)

i'm learning how to sew now- who makes these historical patterns?

Vogue also has "Vintage Vogue", but a lot of them are harder dresses. some of the ones from the 1950s don't look too bad, but some of the suits are really tailored and that can be really hard.
i don't like the ones McCall's makes. they're pale knockoffs of the better, easier-to-follow Simplicity ones. not even sure what Butterick and Burda HAVE.
anyway, FWIW, i usually only buy simplicity and vogue. but i used to make doll clothes by hand now and then (i used to do barbie makeovers when i was younger). so those are the only ones i've used... i'm just teaching myself how to use a machine.
Re:
thanks for the info! : )
