Wow! I'd heard that the Masquerade winner didn't solve the puzzle, but what I'd read made it sound like someone just happened to find it, not that they'd been all sneaky & cheat-like about it. That just sucks. :(

There's still *quite* a controversy surrounding the solution to Treasure, as well. Not that I would have ever solved the puzzle, anyway, but I take a certain amount of comfort in knowing that a great many people insist that it's impossible to solve from clues in the video alone, as was claimed back in the day (nearly -- egads! -- 20 years ago).
