my mom just doesn't like the look of greyhounds, period, any size. she doesn't really have problems with the iggie temperment. since she has met a few darling iggies, she's warmed up to them a bit, and i've researched the breed as well, and they would be a good dog for us. but... while she admitted she'd say yes to the right iggie, she'd prefer one of the other breeds we listed.

as far as falling in love... yes. that happens to us. especially since we drop by pet stores to say hellooooo to the puppies (while she fell for the border collie, i fell for the little bitty puglet who was there, but he couldn't come out to play yet). i have issues with the doctrine about not buying pet store dogs, since the flip side of all the reasons seems to be "and dogs with these probs are not worthy of being loved as much as a shelter dog or a dog from a noncommercial breeder." all of my cats but one have been rescue cats, all of them were cats we just fell in love with. but we're trying to not be impulsive about the dog purchase, because they're a little less laissez-faire pets than cats are.
