Happy National Turkey/Tofurkey Massacre Day! ;)

I just got home from my friend's house. Had a good time. Watched my Aeon Flux videos and worked on our project, which still isn't done (hours and hours and... we're up to like 12+ hours so far!)

I stopped at 7-11 on the way there, to get a slurpee and maybe a container of Ben & Jerry's for the evening, and lost my Citgo/7-11 credit card somewhere between the car and the register. I have no idea what I might have done with it, even though I retraced my steps a few times, looked underneath things, and so on. Very frustrating. I called my mom from Leanne's house and told her what was up, and that she had to call and tell them I'd just lost a card.

I must sleep. Really. Dinner reservations in less than 13 hours. Have to start getting ready no later than 3PM. Want to watch the tape of the new George Carlin special, but it will have to wait.
Ana is taking her carpet out today. I've been wanting to do that. Most of the carpeting in my house is at least fifteen years old. In my bedroom it's a boring deep caramel color. However, I think it might further reduce the value of the house to take out the carpeting. So I don't know if it's a good idea, despite my desire to do nifty trompe l'oeil floors.

I got up late, ate biscuits and gravy, and got ready for dinner. Went to the same place as last year, but it took much longer to get there because of military road closings - had to go far out of the way. They have distressingly fat koi in their outdoor pond, just one, whose body is all swollen and who seems to be dragging his tiny tail behind him... poor thing. Can one euthanize fish?

Anyway, despite a loooong wait for service and total neglect by the bread waiter and my shivering and theatrically warming my hands over the candle flame in case anyone didn't notice I was cold, dinner was very good. And MMMM CREME BRULEE. We're now off to the neighborhood theater to see the Harry Potter movie. I am overdressed, in terms of formality, but have good hopes of actually being warm.
