I just ordered THIS SHIRT. I would have waited if it hadn't been a limited edition, but since they only made 500 of them... I decided to go for it.

I have been accomplishing small things today... called for Airborne pickup of my lab specimens (which have to go overnight in a freezer pack to a lab in Kansas), and got my plane tickets from FedEx. Still waiting for the shirts etc. I ordered last week.

Was talking to T. and Ragdoll on AIM earlier and was messaged out of the blue from Meg, a girl I knew when I was about eighteen to twenty or so. Very cool, strange girl, very theatrical & intelligent. An oddity. A few years younger than me, she was a friend of the C-Princess. Anyway, I chatted with her for a while.

She's finishing up at music school, wants to be a broadway star. Going to NYC in a while to throw herself on the mercy of fate (with help in funding, at least). I wished her luck. Then she told me that, a while ago, she had been drinking a lot because she had dated my Evil Ex! So we nattered about him for a while. It turns out she broke up with a physicist she'd dated for a few years to date him. And sorely regrets it.

The Evil Ex has no prospects in life. Seriously. He's intelligent and talented but completely and totally hapless, absent-minded, and overdramatic. I asked her if he'd treated her like shit (which is a common theme in his relationships) and she said, "No, not shit... just... he's too preoccupied with the grand horrors of the world to pay attention to the actual people in his life." I amended that to "He's too preoccupied with what he sees as the grand horrors of his world and how they affect poor little him to take note of the fact that there ARE other people in his life." She laughed and agreed. Then we agreed that he is probably a tool demons throw in the path of otherwise hep young ladies to tempt them to mess up their lives. (We are bitter, yes.)

Anyway, it's cold outside, and windy. I'm happy that Meg is doing well. I'm waiting for deliveries and pickups, and wondering how Ragdoll is holding up (she was losing it when I talked to her earlier, since home chaos seems to be at a fever-pitch today). I'm going to call my mom and ask her if/how she got the stain out of my weird Cosmic "Mother's Little Helper" tee that I stained months ago and was upset about. I'm going to go read or something. Or something. Yeah, that's what I'll do.
