Cat has not gone to vet's. Cat is happily skipping his appointment. Nobody here is awake enough to take him to his appointment, so I rescheduled. I gave him canned food earlier and he threw it up. Cat is having an entertaining little day at home. Soon I will be asleep and he will have perched next to me as usual. (have I mentioned that he's a cat of almost 20 lbs who hasn't the foggiest notion that he isn't a tiny baby kitten?)
Go now to Black Scarab... Corinne is amaaaaazing. We were supposed to work on a project together about a year ago, a c*m*c b**k, but it fell through. Nonetheless you should visit her site and buy her work and heap praise upon her, because she's tremendously talented. (buzzbuzz to Autumn for the link.)
I am almost finished with the book that has been tormenting me for the past week or so (A Conspiracy of Paper). It's not as good as An Instance of the Fingerpost: the suspense and doublecrossings feel more engineered, for one, but on the upside it doesn't have as many slow points and doesn't feel nearly as long. There is a palpable sense of atmosphere but I am afraid that I am not picturing it well at all. My brain tends to concoct feverish, claustrophobic little cabinet-pieces when large airy plazas and well-lit rooms are called for.
It occurs to me that I haven't eaten much in the last day or so... roasted veggies here, a cup of oatmeal there... and that I was planning to pick something up on the way home from taking D-cat to the vet's office. So I'd better take care of that before I go boom.
